Three earthquakes hit the Bay Area in California within a matter of minutes on Friday, according to reports. The first earthquake struck near San Jose at around 10:45 a.m. local time with a magnitude of 3.3. A few minutes later, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 hit the same area. The third earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 struck the region a few minutes after that.

Despite the relatively low magnitudes of the quakes, people reported feeling the tremors in areas as far as San Francisco and Oakland.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. However, emergency officials urged residents to remain prepared for potential aftershocks.

The USGS (United States Geological Survey) said the quakes hit on the Calaveras Fault, which is part of the larger San Andreas Fault system.

The Calaveras Fault has been responsible for several significant earthquakes in the past, including a 6.2-magnitude earthquake that struck the region in 1984.

California is one of the most earthquake-prone states in the US, with a history of major earthquakes that have caused extensive damage and loss of life. Emergency officials encourage residents to remain vigilant and prepared for potential seismic events.
