Former "The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart is set to join the cast of the upcoming Disney+ series "Obi-Wan Kenobi," according to sources. The limited series is a spin-off of the "Star Wars" franchise, and will see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the titular Jedi Master. It is unclear what role Stewart will play in the series.

Stewart is no stranger to acting, having appeared in several films and TV shows over the years, including "Big Daddy" and "The Faculty." However, this will be his first time appearing in a "Star Wars" project.

"Obi-Wan Kenobi" will take place 10 years after the events of "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith," and will follow Kenobi as he confronts old enemies and new threats while watching over a young Luke Skywalker.

The series is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2022, and will also star Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars, and Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars. Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of "The Mandalorian," will serve as the series' showrunner.
